Accessible Customer Service Standard

Organizations and businesses can no longer expect to grow profitability by just maintaining the status quo. The quality of the customer experience and the usability and accessibility of services have become paramount. Quality customer service and positive customer experiences are critical to an organization’s continued growth and success.

The Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (the Customer Service Standard) is the first mandatory regulation under the Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities Act (AODA). Its purpose is to make an organization’s customer service operations accessible to people with disabilities by identifying and removing barriers to customer service.

The customer service standard addresses business practices and training needed to provide quality service to people with disabilities and to providing good customer service to everyone.
